About Us

Our Legacy:

The congregation of Christ Lutheran Church began January 17, 1965.

We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and part of the Southern Ohio Synod of the ELCA.

We are GROWING in the love of Christ. Come and FOLLOW JESUS with us!
 

Special Ministries:

  • Music Ministries: Adult Chancel Choir (rehearsals on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m)

  • “reJOYce” Praise Team & Band

  • Children’s Choir

  • Christian Education: Sunday School: From September through May each year

  • Classes for everyone, ages 2 years old through adult.

  • Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m.

  • Adult Bible Studies and Small Group Ministries

  • Vacation Bible School in the summer.

  • Catechism Training for Youth in 7-8th grades (2 year program)

  • Inquirer’s Class for persons interested in learning more about
    being a disciple of Christ Jesus here among us.

  • Youth Ministry: High School Youth participate in the National ELCA YOUTH GATHERING (to be held in San Antonio 2006)
    Youth Group Ministry meets throughout the school year.

  • Children’s Choir

  • Puppet Ministry

  • Children’s Christmas Program

  • Vacation Bible School and Camp out

  • Adult Ministry: Adult Small Group Bible Studies

  • Listening Prayer Group

  • Care & Outreach Ministries: Parish Nurses

  • Care Team Ministry to the ill and homebound.

  • Prayer Shawl Ministry

  • Children’s Christmas Shoebox Project in November

  • Care Fund Ministry--Partnerships with Smyrna Church in Sri Lanka, with Alaskan Missionaries, and with the Oromo Ethiopian Lutheran Church in Columbus, Ohio.

  • Thrivent for Lutherans Group & the Annual Benefit Car Show
    CROP Walk (to be held October 16 @1p.m.- Hopewell Hall, OSU– NEWARK)

  • Guideposts Knitters

  • Special Partnership with St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church in Wittenburg, Germany.
